6th Grade Career Day: A Trip to the Dong Zhuang Golf Club

As we approached the golf course, I suppose everyone felt the same: cold. When we came down from the school bus, the students clutched their coats tightly and scrambled after each other into the reception building. We entered the golf course excitedly. The first thing we saw was a huge canvas of green grass and blue sky. The golf course seemed to be stretching on forever. There were white balls glittering in the reflection of the sun. Two coaches- one foreign, one Chinese- were standing right on the edge of the green grass and were waiting for us. One of the coaches explained to us what we were going to do.

After we realized we were going to hit a few balls, nothing else mattered anymore. Everyone was waiting for their moment to come– for their chance to hold a golf club. When their moment to hit some golf balls finally came, some didn’t hit very well, but some others did a great job. The cold was masked by our excitement and joy. However, is golf really as easy as we previously thought it was? That’s hard to say.Afterward, we walked around the golf course with the other Chinese coach. The coach explained to us why the grass on the golf course comes in various colors, and shared some golf facts and vocabulary. Golf turned out to be such an interesting sport!

During our time at the Dong Zhuang Golf Club, we not only learned some golf skills but also found that each sports needs a bunch of practice.(Written by 6(5) Joyce Hao Pictures by Zhu Wen)
