Jr. NBA Tournament SHSID Won the Champions
Jr. NBA Tournament SHSID Won the Champions
The first SECA Jr. NBA Curriculum Licensed School Tournament officially kicked off on December 2nd at the North America International School last week. More than 100 players from 9 schools graced the basketball court.
The school with teams participating in the Under 10s category included Western International School Shanghai (WISS), Shanghai United International School (SUIS), Shanghai High School International Division (SHSID), and the British International School of Shanghai (BISS).
Shanghai High School International Division (SHSID) U10 team selected the 10 best players from Grade 4 and 5.
In Group B we played against Western International School Shanghai(WISS), and won easily by the score of 16:3. Our next game was against Shanghai United International School (SUIS), after they defeated the British International School of Shanghai(BISS) by 13:6 in Group A.
SUIS is a strong team with two strong and tall centers about 165cm tall, and our tallest boy is 155cm. It was a very tough game as the SHSID boys were all very stressed and made a lot of turnovers. They couldn’t get inside the paint and missed all their outside shots and the score was 0:2 for the first 7 minutes.
Coach Zhang changed the team tactics to get the defenders out of the paint area, and it was successful. The SHSID boys never gave the opponents any chances after Coach Zhang changed his tactics.
They played good offense and great defense and finally won the game by 23:2.
