Grade 9: MFP Club was awarded the "Most Welcome Volunteer Team in 2017"

On the afternoon of December 4th, in a conference jointly organized by the Shanghai Red Cross, the Commission Office of Spiritual Civilization of the Shanghai Municipal Committee for Health and Family Planning, the Shanghai Pudong New District Volunteers Association, the World Health Foundation, and the SCMC Branch of the Shanghai Children's Fund for the Shanghai Children's Medical Center, SHSID’s MFP Club was awarded the ‘Most Welcome Volunteer Team in 2017’.Continuing from the MFP Service Learning Project of Grade 8, which was firstly created by Kingsley Poon, the MFP Club has successfully held six charity concerts in the Shanghai Children's Medical Center (SCMC). The club members also went to the ward to play string music pieces and gave gifts to the hospitalized children, encouraged them to face their diseases bravely, with a positive attitude. Their actions were widely appreciated by the children, their family members, and the medical staff in SCMC.

Ms. Ji Qingying, the Deputy Director of SCMC, and Ms. Liu Min, the Director of the Senior School of SHSID, attended the conference with the officers of the World Health Foundation and the Commission Office of Spiritual Civilization of the Shanghai Municipal Committee for Health and Family Planning. Representing the MFP club, Kingsley expressed his sincere thanks to the conference organizers. He said, as students, we are most happy to be able to bring warmth to the hospitalized children with our music talents.
