Puxi Grade 5: Charity Fair
Puxi Grade 5: Charity Fair
On November 23rd, Grades 5 & 6 held the annual Charity Fair in their local dining hall. When customers went into the dining hall, the place was full. It was such an exciting scene!
The sellers had prepared a great variety of things to sell, such as pens, food, and prizes. Swarms of people crowded around the BBQ to buy beef sticks, and raced each other to buy the cotton candy and the spicy Korean rice cakes that were on offer. The most special trend this year in 5th and 6th grade was the slime! Sticky, huge blobs of slimy goop that stick to your hand, and stretch down to the ground. It attracted many students. If you were there you might have seen balloons in people’s palms– these were light, transparent ‘bubble gum’ balloons. There were a great variety of things for sale at the charity fair. Every seller was putting in great effort into selling as many as they could.
Besides the food, fun things and stationary the young sellers sold, they cared more about why they held this charity fair. It meant a lot to then. The money eared from sales will be donated to people who experience poverty, disability and are in need of help in rural and impoverished areas of China. We put our hearts into this Charity Fair, holding these special hearts in our hands to make others feel good. We hope what we have done will make their lives more comfortable. We cherished this day for its fun, and as a chance to help people in need.
Thanks to Director Luo and Mr Liu for helping us hold this charity fair and also thanks to the sellers for selling the fun things we like. This has been a memorable Charity Fair for 5th and 6th grade!
