Business Management course: mock interview
Business Management course: mock interview
Recently, the Business Management course at SHSID has been talking about human resource management. Therefore, on November 28th, the teachers organized mock interviews for the students during class time.
This activity was based on the background of one technology company recruiting staff. Five students acted as HR managers and the other students acted as applicants. The applicants were required to choose one of three positions. They could be applying for the position of store manager, software engineer and sales specialist.
They were interviewed in groups by different job positions. Before the interview, they had already written their resumes and submitted them to the five HR managers. The HR managers had also designed several questions based on the job requirements and the resumes. During the interview, every applicant tried their best to present themselves to the HR managers in order to get the job position they applied for. The HR managers also asked very challenging questions to the applicants and recorded their performances carefully. In the end, the HR managers discussed the applications and agreed on one successful applicant from each job position to offer the job to.
In this mock interview, the students participated very actively. Through this kind of class activity, the students can gain a better understanding of how an interview is held, and also of the responsibilities of both applicants and HR managers. Also, it is a good way to let students apply what their have learnt in their textbooks in real life.
