Grades 11:Class Activities in CAS Class
Grades 11:Class Activities in CAS Class
During the two CAS periods of November 22nd, every student shared delicious food and participated in various homeroom class activities. The activities allowed students to form closer bonds with one another and improve their cooperation skills.
Drinking milk tea, students from classes 11(1) A and 11(1) B gathered around in their classroom and watched a few students demonstrate a dance that everyone is going to perform at the Art Festival audition. For both periods, the class rehearsed eagerly and later moved to the hallway for more practice space. The whole process of rehearsing and performing was a chance for the class to bond.
Enjoying their milk teas and snacks, the students of class 11(2) gathered around to have a karaoke activity in which Peter, Anna and Kitetsu each showed off their talents. Later the class had a game of Mafia, having fun in deducing who were the werewolves.
After ordering their sweet, sweet milk tea, class 11(3) proceeded to play a game of musical chairs. Anyone who missed their chair and got knocked out had to dance, sing, or answer a question. The last two men standing were Karubi and Brack. While the music was being played, Karubi stole the chair and knocked Brack off. In addition to the musical chairs, the homeroom teacher brought a surprise for the whole class when he ordered some Lawson delicacies and two delicious cakes for the whole class to indulge in.
Class 11(4)’s students also had an awesome time. The first period mainly consisted of a tiny party. The students enjoyed fried chicken, bubble tea, and a classy movie called ‘Lucky Logan’. During the second period the students played an “I have never” game! This was a precious experience for the students to escape from the stress of their midterms, and also a great opportunity for the entire class to get to know each other. The class said that they enjoyed themselves lot, and saw this event as a meaningful experience for them to get to know each other.
Class 11(5) ordered milk tea, and brought food from home to share. They had sausages, mashed potatoes, chips, pineapple pie, and all kinds of food to fill up the table. Then they split into two teams to play games, with punishments for people that couldn’t keep up. The 80-minute homeroom games were entertaining and lighthearted, and they all got to know their fellow homeroom-ers a lot better.
Class 11(6) gathered together to enjoy some pizza and Yi Fang tea while watching ‘Lucky Logan’. This CAS activity gave the students the opportunity to bond with their fellow classmates and promote class unity. Class 11(6) enjoyed this small break from work and now feel recharged and ready to focus on the coming monthly and final exam.
Class 11(7) gathered as a circle to enjoy snacks and discuss class goals for the following semesters and approaches to adopt. Afterwards, the class watched the movie ‘Dead Poets Society’ which is included in a New York Times list of ten movies
high school students should watch before writing their college application essays. The bond between the students of 11(7) tightened after these activities.
After receiving each of their milk teas, the students in class 11(8) began their CAS class activity. Previously, each student was required to write two interesting personal facts which were later compiled as jeopardy questions among the CAS classes. Students were randomly divided into six groups. The group which got the highest score would choose their prizes first. With instructions and help from three class monitors and the homeroom teacher, the classmates actively participated in this game. Through this convivial atmosphere, students and their teacher got to know each other deeply.
Students from 11(9) first celebrated their classmate Katie’s birthday by singing her Happy Birthday. They really hoped that they could bring her some warmth and happiness. After that, students actively participated in some class games. Points were given to students who came up with the correct answers and were totaled up at the end. The group with the highest score shall have a pizza party in the future. These games required students to cooperate with each other and to link individuals who have different skills in order to achieve a common goal. During the second period, the students chose to relax for a while so they watched a movie, Cars 3.
