Grade 12: SHSID’s Roots and Shoots Group Receive the Outstanding Group Award

On Saturday, November 18th, the annual Roots and Shoots festival was held in Shanghai No.8 High School to celebrate all the hard work its members and volunteers have put in over the last year. It was an opportunity for SHSID students as well as members from different clubs across Shanghai to present their accomplishments.

SHSID is a close friend of Shanghai Roots & Shoots. The Puxi primary school has supported Million Tree Project for several years. The students from SHSID’s Puxi Campus Middle School and High School recently joined R&S’ campaigns by organizing activities such as the bottle recycling project, planting and distributing since November is Reading Month of Pudong campus seeds, and the Cup Art Competition, as well as a number of fundraising events. This year, the school sent high school students to Ningxia for an R&S-run tree planting trip to help in the struggle against desertification. It was also the chance for students from different Chinese schools to share their experiences and ideas.

During the R&S festival’s annual award ceremony, SHSID Roots and Shoots received the Outstanding Group Award for its work over the year. It was lovely to see a year of hard work for every Shanghai Roots and Shoots member being recognized.
