7th and 8th Graders Went to the Jia Bai Nong Children’s Center for Charity Donation

On the afternoon of November 21st, the sky was a little dark. Light drizzle fell down from the gloomy sky. Mr Ni and Miss Yan took four students from the 7th and 8th Grade of SHSID to the Jia Bai Nong Children’s Center for Charity Donation. Their 10,000 yuan donation came from the 7th and 8th grade charity fair.

After the group arrived at the Forest Village, they were led to the children’s center. The president of the institution welcomed them and began to introduce the children’s center.

From the president’s explanation, the SHSID students learned that the children’s center is a nonprofit public organization. Most of the children there were abandoned by their parents because they were born with a disease. The children were accepted by the center, and there they will be given treatment, and wait for opportunities for adoption. Most of the children are 1-3 years old. The oldest one is 6 years old. The president of the children’s center is a devoted Christian. She has a regular job so she usually visits the children’s center on weekends. Since the center was established 5 years ago, the Jia Bao Nong Children’s Center had helped more than 40 children to be adopted by other families.

After the visit, the SHSID students couldn’t calm down for a long time. This experience make them understand that we should cherish the life we have. We should not always be angry, sad or give up just because of small difficulties in our daily lives. Compare with these children, our students are very lucky.
