Eighth Graders Came Reading a book to Second Graders

The eighth graders came to the second grade classrooms and read books to the students there. Every picture book had been picked carefully to make sure the younger kids would have as much fun as possible. This activity was part of the eight graders’ service learning program.

All the second graders in each classroom were divided into several small groups and each eighth grader was assigned 5 to 7 students to make sure that every one can see clearly and pay attention. All the storytellers read with enthusiasm and skill. Every second grader enjoyed the stories a lot and cannot wait to see their big brothers and sisters again.

This service learning class procedure will last for the whole school year. These eighth graders will come to read for the second graders regularly across this semester.
