Puxi Grade 5: Youth Development —Stress Management
Puxi Grade 5: Youth Development —Stress Management
No matter who you are or what you do, everybody deals with stress in their life. That is why we seek to discover and learn about different measures we can use to relieve stress in our Youth & Development class.
On Thursday, the students in Youth & Development had class as usual and this week’s theme was “How do you control your stress?” The teacher asked the students whether they had stress in their lives or not, and doubtlessly, everyone answered that they did. Some students then volunteered to give examples of the source of their stress, such as too much homework, lack of sleep, or naggy parents.
From there, the teacher offered some useful ways to control stress, explaining that there are various ways and each student must find the way that is suitable for them. Some examples were: playing games, doing exercise, throwing and kicking a bouncy ball, and listening to music. Sometimes eating can also help relieve stress. It seemed that talking was effective as well, because everyone got involved in the discussion about yummy foods to eat when they are stress and nobody in the class was serious.
Two periods had gone by and the students had learned that stress was not a horrible monster. The students understand that when you feel stressed, you just have to stand up straight and control it in your own way. Sometimes you may even get unexpected benefits from dealing with stress effectively!
