Grades 9-10:Halloween Party—Blackout
Grades 9-10:Halloween Party—Blackout
Around 4pm on October 27th, the much-anticipated Blackout began, and students who had been waiting on campus returned to the Zhongxing Building.
The theme of the event was "the circus". The once solemn Zhongxing Building was now gruesome and frightening. Outside the building, there were several clubs with snack stalls selling Halloween desserts. Many activities were held inside classrooms 119 to 122, from horror movies to a variety of different games. They attracted many students. Outside the enclosed lavatory there was a lengthy line of tarot cards behind a mysterious black curtain. 106 and 107 became temporary dining rooms, where scary and aesthetically pleasing arrangements made it a magnificent pleasure to eat there. Classroom 105 was the most peaceful spot, giving the students a space to play cards.
The most popular activity must have been the haunted house. Before entering the haunted house, an officer explained the rules, such as: "don’t damage props, harm the clown or the staff". Every room of the Haunted house had its own surprise, from the clown suddenly jumping out of an abandoned box, to the suddenly grabbing at of your ankle you feel when climbing through the tunnel. From a girl in a white dress singing barefoot on the stairs, to a doctor wearing a hospital gown suddenly screaming when you take a photo with him. From the “ghosts” in the bathroom chasing toward a clown with a knife in his hand, to the red smoke in the hall.
The success of these amazing activities depended on all the challenging work of the ASB and their helpers. To set up the blackout, they spent two hours after school preparing. To make the haunted house a better experience for all, they sacrificed their time to dress up and preform in the haunted house for nearly two hours.
