Pudong Campus: An Impressive Sports Meet

1. Class Board Preparation

The school sports meet is an annual sports event. This year, the sports meet at our Pudong campus was held on October 23rd, which was a bright and lovely autumn day. The students of Pudong had been working on class boards for the meet since September. They came up with many great ideas and chose an overall theme for their class. To complete their beautiful boards, the students cut paper and colored pictures. In addition to the class boards, bright sports meet t-shirts were also ordered in advance to distinguish each class by grade. Both teachers and students practiced their march and song over and over again before the meet, hoping to have a memorable class entrance during the sports meet opening ceremony.

2. Wonderful Opening Ceremony

The most exciting event of the sports meet was the opening ceremony. All of the students behaved well and marched alongside their teachers by their grade. Both parents and teachers were impressed by the dance and martial arts performances. After the opening show, the director, Ms. Liu, gave a speech to encourage students to take an active part in all of the events. To end the opening ceremony, one of our students, Katrina, shared her understanding of athletic spirit to everyone. After this, the sports meet officially began!

3. Time to Show Us

After the opening ceremony, the entire arena was full of cheers as the competitions began. Both the boys and girls tried very hard to achieve medals in the various events. The 30-meter dash and 50-meter dash competitions were held first. Other activities include the relay race, the kangaroo jump, the long jump, and the basketball toss. Parents and children also competed in the three-legged race and the dribble competition. Although some of these activities were challenging to some students, they still had fun and tried their very best! All of the students performed very well during the sports meet. We hope everyone will continue to keep their sports spirit with them after the meet!
