Puxi Grade 2: Learning Geometry is Fun

Recently all the second graders have been learning about many important geometric definitions and ideas. The Math teachers of Grade 2 have designed some fun yet practical classwork and homework to help the students reinforce what they have learned in class.

During Math class on October 19th, the students traced their both their palms three times and pasted all the tracings onto a piece of A4 paper. They were instructed to slide, flip or turn the palms and mark their movements as well. This classwork was very useful for reviewing the basic definition of slide, flip or turn.

During Math class two days later, the students were given a photo of themselves but with only half of their face visible. They needed to finish drawing the other half using symmetry. This self-portrait work helped the students to learn the definition of ‘symmetry’.

All the teachers of SHSID will try their best to make every class an efficient and active one. Hopefully every student will learn a lot, and have plenty motivation to keep on learning!
