Grade 5 and 6 ASB Election:The Stage for Great Ideas

The fifth and sixth graders gathered in the auditorium to elect their Associate of Student Body (ASB) members recently.

There were 34 candidates running for a position in the ASB. Every student from both grades could vote for up to 5 candidates for the fifth grade ASB members, and up to 10 students for the sixth grade ASB members.

Each candidate from both grades was allowed to give a 3-minute speech to the audience from the stage. All candidates prepared and delivered their speeches in hope of being elected to the ASB. They proposed their ideas and suggestions to the audience eagerly to persuade students to vote for them. Many of them asked questions to the audience and made the audience feel as if they had been a part of the speeches. Some of them spoke vehemently, sharing their personal experience with the students. Others made the audience laugh by telling them interesting ideas and stories.

One president and two vice-presidents of ASB were elected to represent our fifth and sixth graders for one year. They are Matthew from 6(1), Emily from 6(6) and Claudia from 5(5). However, all the participants demonstrated their ambition and courage to us!
