7th Grade Visit to the Shanghai Expo Museum

On Oct. 12th, the grade 7 students went to the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition Museum. That sounds interesting! A museum displaying information about the World Expo, what might that be?

After the 4th period, the classes set off to the museum. The students were surprised by the humbugs prepared by homeroom teachers. As soon as they got them, they ate them like savage tigers.

Shortly after, the bus arrived at the museum. Behind the flags of various countries, there stood a large white building with arches that connected to the roof. The architecture was very modern with the roof being glass. The inside of the museum was divided into eight exhibition halls.

The first two halls were all about the world exhibition, the World Expo. What is the World Expo? The World Expo can be divided into two types: the first type is the special World Expo, and the second is the comprehensive World Expo. The students learned that both are exhibitions that are not regularly held to showcase contemporary cultures, technologies and industries worldwide, as well as to celebrate people who had a positive impact on people's lives. The students learned that the World Expo not only provided friendly exchanges among countries, but also witnessed the success of the Industrial Revolution. The students also learned that the Second World War played an important role in expressing wishes for peace and hope for a better future.

The last two halls showcased treasured memories from the Shanghai Expo 2010 and provided information for what can be expected for future Expos.

This trip to the Shanghai Expo Museum has not only taught students about the World Expo, but it has also provided unforgettable memories.
