8th Grade “Reading Buddy” Learning Activity
8th Grade “Reading Buddy” Learning Activity
On Monday, October 16th, the 8th grade “Reading Buddy” team went to the Primary School to read books with students in the first and second grade.
In the morning, the team members were invited to the second grade classrooms to share some of the books they chose to read to the second graders. Even though it was early in the morning, all of the second graders seemed excited to listen to the stories. After the team members finished reading the books, some of the younger students said they really enjoyed the story and thanked the members.
In the afternoon, the team members were invited to the first grade classrooms to share their other books. The members were once again warmly welcomed by the first graders. Some of the first graders even brought their own favorite books and asked the “Reading Buddy” members if they could read those together as well.
The “Reading Buddy” learning program not only helps the Primary School students become interested in reading books, but also helps the team members practice and enhance their speaking and story-telling skills.
