High School Math Professional Development Day

On October 13th, SHSID’s High School Math faculty had quite a fruitful Professional Development Day in Room 205 of the Xianmian Building. This event consisted of three parts. In the morning session, teachers first discussed the ‘8 Standards for Math Practice’, to explore how they can find inspiration in their teaching processes. Each group shared their recent practice in teaching and evaluation. Next, based on Bloom’s Taxonomy of Educational Objectives, the five teaching groups took a close look at their recent exam papers and discussed how to scientifically design examinations in order to evaluate students reasonably and holistically. In the afternoon session, the High School Faculty and the Middle School Faculty discussed how to link up their class content and how to adjust teaching methods for the same contents. This one-day event benefited the teachers a lot.
