PBL Mechanics 2 Experiment: Bouncing Balls

On October 10th, students in the PBL Mechanics 2 courses had the chance to go to the PASCO laboratory to create their own experiments. The laboratory was located in Pasco’s Gong Cheng building. Ms. Li gave the students some instructions on how to operate motion and sound intensity sensors, and also their computers’ experimental software. She split six students into three teams. Some students carried out an experiment upon the various volumes of sound different bouncing balls can create. Some students only used one ball, and tested the sounds they could create by dropping them from different heights. They learned a great deal of mechanical knowledge from the experiment, and also demonstrated an aptitude for teamwork.
