U15 soccer team won the first SSSA soccer tournament of the year

Recently, SHSID’s U15 soccer team won the first SSSA (Shanghai Schools Sport Association) soccer tournament of the year. It is their third tournament victory in a row and it means they have not lost a game in one year. On September 26th, Coach Andrew Graydon received an interview from news group members from the 8th grade. This is what he had to say in the interview:

Q: What went through your head when you won?

A: I felt happy--- I was very proud of the boys. The season just started not too long ago, and we’re training twice a week, not just once, so it’s harder than before.

Q: How was the team lead to victory?

A: We are a very tight-knit group. As I said before, we are training twice a week now, working harder than ever.

Q: Is there anything that could be improved? If so, how?

A: Of course, there is always room for improvement. The boys could work on their discipline, work on defense, and also on pressuring the other team.

Q: Are there any competitions in the near future?

A: We have around two to three competitions a semester, and the next one is going to take place in late October to early November. The date is not yet set.

Congratulations to the victory the soccer team pulled off, and good luck to them in upcoming rounds!
