Puxi Grade 3: Story Mom

In September 28th’s Personal Growth class, the Third Graders welcomed their first “Story Mom”.

Our Story Moms brought the students a beautiful little poem called An Important Book. In this book, every little thing in the world is shown to have its own special and beautiful trait. For daisies, what most important is their beautiful white color. For apples is their lovely shape. For the sky, is it simply the fact that it is always there. The story was warm and lovely, and every student was immersed in it.

After finishing the story, the Story Moms led the students through two activities. One was to think about an important friend in their life and talk about their merits. The other was to think about their own merits. Students thought carefully and participated actively in the two activities.

This story tells the students that everyone has merits if you are patient enough to find them. At the same time it also teaches them to find flashpoints of themselves.
