Pudong Grade 3:Story Moms Are Here!
Pudong Grade 3:Story Moms Are Here!
The Story Moms brought the students a story called The Adventure of Prince Frog to help students understand the importance of recognizing yourselves, and that friendship can break the boundaries.
In the story, the frog who mistook himself for a prince went for an adventure to pursue happiness. During the adventure, he found his own identity, and gained the friendship of a stork who was the frog’s predator.
The students learned that although Prince Frog’s wildest dreams couldn’t quite come true, he was still able to experience some ‘happy accidents’ during his journey. Just like the frog, we can know ourselves better by overcoming difficulties.
What kind of person am I? what am I able to do? What am I supposed to do? When I should give up or persist? These are questions we all ask ourselves as we grow up. But when you find yourself, your ‘dream’ is just an accessory, since recognizing yourself is the real key to success.
Moreover, the students also felt the strong power of friendship in this story. After learning that the stork is his predator, the frog still maintained their friendship. The students related the story to their own lives. In SHSID, students with many different nationalities and different cultural backgrounds come together. Different colored skin and different first languages shouldn’t be obstacles to developing students’ relationships. Friendship is able to overcome all boundaries, be they race, religion, or culture.
