Puxi Grade 5: Passing on Our Love and Heart

Students from the Middle School section are always willing to do volunteer work. This time, we donated books to the Sheren Primary School in Qinghai province. Every day, there has been students bringing in books. Some brought a whole bag of books, while some brought just a few. Most of the books looked pretty new; none of the sides were bent, and none of the pages were ripped. With everyone's contribution, we had piles and piles of books at the end of the event.

On a sunny day, the volunteers from Futian Recycle came to pick up the books, while volunteers from Sixth Grade came to help, and I was one of them. We gathered up in the building, and went as a group to help move the books onto the van. We were a bit early. The sun was blinding, but the breeze was comforting. While we were waiting for the van, we moved all the books to the front door of the building. Everybody worked hard, taking as many books as possible, but carefully passing them along.

These books been a part of our childhood, and we hope they can reach their new owners and give then happiness. After the van arrived, we carried the books to it. Although most of us were sweating, each one was so happy to get involved.

After we were done, we took a group photo all together. Everybody smiled with the joy that came from our hearts for helping the Sheren Primary School children. This is joy that will last long. The work was tiring, but helping others made everybody feel good. I wish that every student in the Shenren Primary School will enjoy the pleasure of reading these books.
