Pudong Grade 3: Oh Dear! Oh Science!

In the first science class, Mrs. Cherry let students play a game called “Oh Deer”. Through this game students were able to review the things they had recently learned in class.

The Grade 3 students turned into deer in order to learn more about their needs! The students are studying animal needs in Science class. They recently learned that animals need food, water, shelter, and space, and cannot survive if their needs are not met.

During the “Oh Deer!” game, five students became deer, the rest of the students became different resources (food, water, shelter). On the count of three, the deer charged toward the resources to find what they needed. It was sometimes a challenge for all of the deer to find their resources. If the deer found their resources, they would take their resource with them back to “Deer Land.” If they did not find a resource to meet their needs, they did not survive and turned into resources.

The interactive game was a great way for students to solidify the new information they learned!
