Grade10 PBL introduction: an interesting song in Biology

In Sep. 7th, Mr. Liao has held the PBL (Project-Based Learning) introduction meeting in grade 9-10. Mrs Gu, Head Teacher of the Biology group, introduced the Biology PBL courses in detail through an interesting “PCR Song”, which caught the students’ attention nicely.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Liao introduced the aim, plan and direction of the PBL, and then invited teachers from the Biology, Chemistry and Math to make their own PBL introductions. Mrs. Gu illustrated the “Human Health and Physiology” and “Molecular Biology” aspects of “Who, Why and How to Choose PBL” and “Requirements of PBL”. At the end of the meeting, Mrs. Gu put out an interesting “PCR Song”, which was mainly about molecular biology. The students thought it was really interesting, and signed up to the PBL actively.

The aim for the PBL in Biology is to deepen students’ recognition of health problems in daily life and advanced bio-technology. Meanwhile, teachers hope that students can improve their passion for research.
