Colleges Information SessionIII—Northwestern, Vanderbilt, WUSTL
On September 7th, 2017, SHSID held a college session for more than 300 students in and out of the school. Three top U.S. universities, Northwestern University, Vanderbilt University, and Washington University in St. Louis, came to visit and gave college information session on campus experience and holistic admissions. However, what set this college program from the rest was its use of VR Tour provided by InitialView. Students, after listening to brief introductions of these three colleges from the respective admissions officers, were able to engage with the campus, in a virtual sense. Through the eyesets, the attendees were able to attend a college tour without even stepping outside of Shanghai. Northwestern, Vanderbilt, and WUSTL all produced virtual reality videos for students to get to know the campus in an intimate way without having to fly halfway across the world. SHSID hopes to continue building the bridge between colleges worldwide and high school students in Shanghai.
