Grade 12: Scholarship Presentation

SHSID hosted the second round of evaluation upon the two scholarships on August 30th. This was the first student presentation since the new scholarship system was established. In order to assess the effects of this change, the school also invited students and parents to act as judges. The scores were calculated after each scholarship evaluation ended.

The two scholarships in the new system are the Principal List Award and the Social Activity Award. In the first half of the evaluation, 18 candidates of the Principal List Award who achieved academic excellence and had great influence over campus finished a 4-minute speech and fully represented themselves in front of the judges.

The other half of the evaluation focused on the Social Activity Award. 21 candidates showed their the great efforts they have made in social activities through singing and dancing. Some of the candidates used videos as substitutes since they were still abroad. They confidently expressed their passion for designs, classic music, composition, sports and other subjects.

Although this evaluation lasted five long hours, judges meticulously examined every candidate’s work and efforts, appreciated their persistence and talents and recognized their great achievements in High School. All their efforts made this very first evaluation successful.
