Primary Students Welcome the New School Year

September 1st is always a special day for all the students at SHSID. A new school year represents a new hope for students and teachers alike. Bright and early on that morning all the primary students in SHSID joyously bounded to their new classrooms. It was such a pleasure for them to meet their teachers and friends!

The first period in the morning was the opening ceremony for grades 1 and 2. The grade 2 teachers were all pleasantly surprised to find that returning grade 2 students had grown more mature and well-behaved since they last saw them. Our 2nd grade students set a great example for the new 1st graders!

The ceremony opened with the Principal of SHSID Primary and Middle Section, Mr. Liu, and the Director of the Primary Section, Ms. Bao, sharing their best wishes and expectations for every primary student in this new school year. First grade graduates Claire, from 2(2), and Max, from 2(6), also shared their valuable experience and advice with the first graders on how to make their first year at SHSID a great one. The highlight of the ceremony was the announcement of the Ten Star Students and the Excellent Class for grade 2. These shining examples of excellence will be a beacon for their peers and younger students alike in the year to come.

A new school year represents a new hope for the future. We can’t wait to see all the primary students become their “better me” in their new grade!
