Puxi Grade 3: Measure Up

Recently, the third graders were learning measurements in math class, such as weight, length, and capacity. In order to help students get a good grasp of the new knowledge and apply what they learned in class to real life, the third grade teachers assigned them a math project.

They needed to design a poster that illustrated one important measurement from our current unit. Their poster needed to include the following: definitions of the key term, conversion of units, and examples in daily life. Students were greatly encouraged to organize their own ideas and think of a creative way to present their projects.

We want to see our students summarize the math concepts by themselves and relate the math to their daily life. We hope that the creativity of the students was enhanced by doing this project.
