Dreaming•The special dance performance for glourious youth

On June 9th, 2017, a special SHSID dance performance of was held in drama theater. The headmaster Zhigang Feng, the secretary Hui Wang, the directors Maoxiang Liu, Qin Liu, Min Liu, Guohong Bao and other leaders were in attendance. The performance was heavily attended and had a warm atmosphere. This was the first dance group’s first ever show. Not only the performance but also the program planning got consistently high praise from the school leaders.

The performance had eleven excellent programs, performed by kids from Grade One to Ten. All the programs were linked with one another and splendid. There were simple children’s dances, unique folk dance, energetic pop dances and Latin dance. Under the guidance of teachers Mengnan Gui, Jiyang Zhang, Yi Zhang and Min Qiu, the students presented a special dance performance of high artistic standard.

‘On Fire’ from the Grade Seven and Eight dancers was the opening number, full of energy and passion. After that was a lovely show from Grade One and Two. Next was a powerful and energetic ‘mechanical dance’ from Grade Three and Four. The Latin ‘Summer Breeze’ from Weiya Li was both enthusiastic and gentle. The dance ‘Paper-cut Girl’ from Grade Three and Four made use of traditional Chinese dance techniques, and brought some of China’s national charm to the audience. The dance ‘2ON’ from Yuyi Zeng gave us a strong rhythm and a visual impact. The finale performance ‘Victory’ from Grade Nine to Ten was a particularly firey performance. After the sound of a gun shot, the dance stopped and the audience was in a silence for several tense seconds. Then came their warm applause.

The curtain call brought the atmosphere to a peak. Ninety-nine performers and four teachers took the curtain call to the sound of ‘Baby’ by Justin Bieber and the audience went wild. The performers danced exuberantly, their bodies emitting purest joy. The performance was full of surprises alongside all of the excellent event on the program, making sure the audience would have an amazing time. Finally, the school leaders took a photo with the performers to mark a perfect ending.
