SHSID Students Achieved Satisfactory Results in 2017 Physics Bowl Competition

The 2017 Physics Bowl results were recently released. And 10th and 11th grade students from our school continued the winning tradition of the past two years and won several awards. As a team, students from the Physics club participated in the division 1 contest and won 4th place in region 17, the most competitive region in the world. This also placed the whole team 21st worldwide. Furthermore, Alex Li won 28th place worldwide and was placed #5 in region 17.

As the most influential high school physics competition, “Physics Bowl” was organized by the American Association of Physics Teachers and attracts students from across the globe to participate. This year, more than 7,100 students from 558 different schools joined. The contest is famous for its broad coverage and tight time schedule. It is a challenging proof of students’ physics competency. To prepare for the contest, the 10th and 11th grade physics club members started practicing under the mentoring of physics teacher Mr.Zhang Dongsheng two months ahead. Their efforts paid off and we sincerely hope they can all achieve more fruitful results in pursuit of further physics knowledge.
