Grade 12: Graduation Ceremony

On June 6th the graduation ceremony for The Class of 2017 was held at the school auditorium. The auditorium was especially decorated for the occasion.

Attendants of this graduation ceremony included the Principal, Mr. Feng Zhigang, High School Principal Mr. Ma Feng, Middle School and Primary School Principal Mr. Liu Lian, and Senior High School Director Ms, Liu Qin. Around 9 o'clock, guided by volunteers, parents entered the auditorium. The whole auditorium was full. The photos of Class 2017 were shown on the screen. With Ms. Liu's official announcement of the opening of the graduation ceremony, all the graduates, wearing their graduation gowns, came into the auditorium, surrounded by applause from all parents and teachers.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the school orchestra played for everyone. When the march was over, everyone saluted the graduates in the orchestra for their last performance in the SHSID orchestra. Next, Principal Feng delivered a speech about coming home to review all the achievements made by students from the Class of 2017. He also sent his best wishes to all graduates. Afterwards, students came onto the stage to be awarded their diploma by both Principals and the Director. The students were very excited and they also understood the meaning of this diploma --- they have all grown up. Jason Yue, Maya Chen, student representatives, and Wiston Wang's mother, delivered speeches to send their best wishes to all students. A wide range of awards were also announced at the graduation ceremony, including Awards for Excellence in Sports, Awards for Good Behavior, Awards for Rapid Progress, Awards for Social Activities, Awards for Academic Achievement, Awards for Honor Students, Awards for Principal’s List, Outstanding Contribution Award, and so on.

By the end of the graduation ceremony, the music, "I Will Miss You, My Friend," was played. All graduates stood up and sang the song to recall all their best memories at SHSID and showed their gratitude to the teachers, parents, and their friends. With Ms. Liu's words of "Happy graduation! Good luck," all graduation hats were tossed high into the air.
