Grade 6: PBA Fair

This semester, sixth grade held a very interesting activity called the “PBA Fair”. PBA means “Progress Based Assessment”, the project that the students need to work on every semester for about one month. This semester, our topic was: “What improvements Shanghai can make?”

Inside this PBA Fair, we needed to present our final project in the sixth to seventh period, and during break time, the presenter and the listener changed places. In each classroom, there were students presenting their posters and their final projects. There were a lot of topics: Air Pollution, Road Safety, Littering, etc. Each group made a well-designed group poster and some colorful brochures.

Every student prepared very well for this activity so that when there was a teacher or student asking any of them questions, they were able to answer them. Also, while the presenter were presenting their work, other students who were listening to take down notes carefully. One of the groups made a very interesting poster on air pollution. They had a lot of evidence on “why air pollution is a problem” and “how does it affect human body?”, and they thought of a very simple solution that anyone can take part in which is to use public transport every day in order to stop the production of massive car pollution.

This PBA fair was very instructive. As we are the citizens of Shanghai, we have the responsibility to protect it.
