Grade 11: Company Visit - Citi Bank

On May 24th, some SHSID students who are interested in banking investment visited theClient Private Citigold Branchlocated on West Nanjing Road. The manager there, Evan, warmly welcomed us. Evan highly praised the past student visitors from SHSID and after which introduced CITI Bank in general. Thanks to its high technology and high expertise, CITI Bank stands out in China’s very competitive banking market. Evan also told us a lot of fun stories that he has experienced in his career working at CITI Bank, after which he asked four three students to played a role-playing game to get a better understanding of how special the “receptionist’s” work is in CITI Bank. After that, we were guided into a meeting room where we were allowed to ask whatever questions we had. By answering our specific questions, Evan elaborated on the topics and related them to the broader aspects of CITI Bank. For example, based on the questions that Kevin Zhou from 11(4) asked about the internet cables in the meeting room, Evan demonstrated the security system of CITI Bank and the mandatory vacation that all CITI Bank employees have to take. From this precious tour to the dream work place of many students in SHSID, we are thankful to have a better, overall understanding of the present banking market and the life of an employee in a bank.
