Grade 11: Company Visit - Ernst & Young

On May 24th, a group of 11th Graders went to the Ernst & Young company. This company is one of the biggest tax and auditing companies in the world. It was originally established in New York City in 1894. Students learned so many things from this company. The employees in that company told us the background of their company and persuaded us to work there in order to learn more about them. They told us that their company has corporate partnerships with many other big companies such as LV, Coca Cola and Intel. One of the employees told us that accounting would be the most popular career in the future. Next, they led us to visit the rest of the company. The company is very different than what I imagined. I thought this kind of big company would have a strict office arrangement. However, the workers can actually choose their desks. There are no separations between junior and senior staff members. The company treats them equally. The company’s environment was excellent, and it made us feel comfortable. Originally, I thought tax and auditing companies were stressful places, and all the employees there should be busy. But actually everybody was relaxed, and everything was in perfect order. The company visit changed my opinion about tax and auditing. Being an accountant seems very attractive to me. Therefore, I will study harder to pursue my dream.
