Grade 12: Honor Students Selection

On Friday, May 19th, twelve honor student candidates gave presentations showcasing their talents, strengths, and contributions to the school. The presentations consisted of 6-minute speeches and 2-minute question-and-answer sessions. During their speeches, candidates vividly described their impact to the school, such as initiating the SHSID Stallions volleyball team. They also explained why they wish to become honor students. One candidate expressed that becoming an honor student is “about not leaving regrets, but leaving inspiration”.

Following up the presentations were stimulating Q&A sessions where the seventeen judges, consisting of seniors, parents, and teachers, posed questions in regards to the candidates’ speeches or their school lives in general. Upon hearing a candidate’s impeccable speech, Principle Ma asked “What is your greatest weakness”? The 8 minutes candidates spent presenting allowed both the judges to learn more about them and for them to discover more about themselves.

After all twelve candidates were done presenting, the judges had to make the tough decision of ranking them from 1 to 12. The results will be revealed during the Graduation Ceremony held on June 6th. Let us look forward to hearing the results!
