Grade 6: Science Fair
Grade 6: Science Fair
The 18th of May–what an exciting day we have all been waiting for! A brand-new science fair was held in the afternoon during Youth Development class. The difference from last year’s science fair is that we had an exhibition of our very own science fair posters. Earlier on Monday, the teachers had chosen the best posters from each science class, and put them on display in the exhibition.
During P&B class, every student received a science fair passport and a questionnaire. If you finished 10 questions on 1 page, you would get one stamp; if you finished more than 10, you would get 2 stamps. For the games, if you participated in one, you would get one stamp. If you successfully completed it, you would get 2 stamps. If you got 16 stamps, you would get a fidget spinner. If you got 12 stamps, you would get two notebooks. If you got 8 stamps, you would get 2 pens. These was the reward system at the science fair!
During the second class in the afternoon, the poster owners went to three different rooms to show their posters that they had been working hard on to the audiences. At the same time, the teachers who were in charge of making the games got ready in the different homerooms. There were 5 games in total. For example, there was one called “Coin-stacking Bridge”. In that game, the players had to try to put as many coins onto a paper bridge as possible, and not let the paper bridge collapse.
As you walked into the room, you would definitely be amazed by the variety of posters there. Almost every single one had a different topic and most of them were really interesting, such as a poster titled “Which Paper Airplane Flies Better?”. The posters shown were all high-quality and colorful. There were lots of pictures and they were really fascinating. This charmed the audience and most of them felt interested in the science fair.
The bell rang. It was time to leave but most people felt so happy that they couldn’t believe it was ending. After that, many people were lining up to get their rewards. What a nice day it has been!
