Grade 8: The Super Intense Soccer Tournament Result

During the last three weeks, starting from April 12th, the eighth graders of SHSID had their annual basketball competition. The game rules are quite simple, though I assume that all of you have at least a general idea about how basketball works. It is a game that on the surface looks like a simple game of throwing a ball into a hoop suspended in the air, but is actually much more than that. In depth, it not only contains numerous different strategies with team formations and compositions, but also demands rigorous exercise and practice to allow your body to execute the skills that can be the crux of winning the game. This friendly battle between classes was slightly unconventional, with only 3 versus 3 players, thus ensuring each class was performing with only its best players on the field.

In the grand clash between these “Basketball Masters”, the games were all very entertaining to watch. Most games were close down to the last second, where it still could have been anybody’s game, and ended with a mindblowing play by one side that decided the outcome. After an engaging week of good basketball, the final teams that were crowned victorious were class 8(3) as the gold medalists, class 8(8) in second, and class 8(9) in third. Although some classes were not able to make it on this list, we all agree that every class played very well, and everybody cannot wait until the next basketball tournament.

An intense atmosphere, talented players, dazzling skills and loud cheers have all left us with many beautiful memories to cherish. The following pictures have captured the most glamorous moments. Please enjoy:
