Grade 6: Field Trip
Grade 6: Field Trip
Time for the Spring field trip again! This time we went to the Natural History Museum. It was a perfect day, the sun was shining and the sky was blue. We made our way to the 1st parking lot, ready to head to the museum. It was not a really long drive and soon we reached the Natural History Museum.
I had visited the Natural History Museum before, and really admire the modern structure of the museum as well as the cool looking statues beside it. The ticket lane was super crowded– it seemed like a lot of schools had decided to visit the Natural History Museum on the same day.
There was a lot of preserved animals and they were in cool, realistic poses. Walking along the exhibits, we soon saw a huge robotic brachiosaurus and everyone started to take pictures of it. My personal favorite animal in the exhibits was the small cute deer standing on a rocky cliff in the deer exhibit. Moving on, we saw the prehistoric animals. The mammoth was huge and the marine creatures hanging from the ceiling looked like they were floating in mid-air. The best thing about the Natural History Museum is that there are actually live animals there, almost like a zoo! We saw a chameleon, snakes, tarantulas, fish, frogs and all sorts of exotic animals! Besides, there were also lots of fossils and there was this huge sedimentary rock, which is what we are learning about in science class!
In a blink of an eye, we were back at school. Although some people had wanted it to be a whole day-long field trip, it was still a great experience and a wonderful field trip.
