7th Grade Lecture: The Stories of My Career

All students hope to have a good career in the future, and being a doctor is a job that many students hope to have. On Thursday, May 4th, the 7th grade students gathered in the primary school auditorium during CAS class to listen to a lecture made by Dr. Angela Sit, the mother of Chloe from 7(7) and Toby from 8(9). She is a doctor, and she gave the students a lecture about her experiences before and during her career, and the important qualities needed to become a doctor.

First, Dr. Sit told us about the good education she got when she was young, she went to a unisex school for primary and secondary education and went to Hong Kong Medical School– the oldest school in Hong Kong for college; then some difficult but fun experiences while studying in college, such as dissecting dead bodies to learn more about the human body. She is now working in Global Health Care and enjoying her career. Next Dr. Sit told us about the essential qualities and personal traits a doctor should have. A doctor needs to be sympathetic to patients and professional while helping then, as well as progressive while learning about new diseases and new treatments. They should also be hard-working. At last Dr. Sit answered questions from eager students that hoped to become a doctor one day.

After Dr. Sit’s lecture, students learned more things required to become a doctor. Many students now hope to become a doctor in the future and are now clear about how to reach their goal.
