SHSID Got Amazing Score in Rocket Science Swim Meet
SHSID Got Amazing Score in Rocket Science Swim Meet
On May 6th, 60 swimmers from SHSID attended the annual Rocket Science Swim Meet. This time SHSID was fully prepared. From the junior section to the senior section, SHSID’s swimmers all got amazing scores, and so, our school ranked 3rd in the entire competition.
As long as there is “SHSID” on the scoring board, no matter whether the event was individual or a relay, our swimmers would start to cheer as loud as they could. We wanted them to swim like dolphins and get the fastest time possible.
The most hopeful moments were definitely the times when you take off your goggles and stare at the scoreboard to see if you can had qualified for the next heat.
But of course, the most exciting part for the kids from SHSID was the race between the coaches and the swimmers. We see our coach every time when we train, but we had never seen him race in a formal situation. When he jumped into the pool, everyone shouted. We can all see that he was working really hard to swim forward.
Every swimmer understands this feeling: having a pool right in front of you, but you can’t just jump in. Just like what Michael Phelps said, “I found something I love….and never gave up.”
