Puxi Grade 1: A Project About Chinese Names

Every parent puts their best wishes and expectations into their child’s name. With this in mind the Native Level Chinese teachers of Grade One designed a project called “Draw My Name” for their students.

First of all, every student needed to talk to their parent and understand the meanings of their name. Then the students needed to choose one Chinese character from their name and express the character through a drawing. They were required to express the meaning and wishes from their parents in the drawing.

During the Chinese Show and Tell class of April 26th, each student was required to present their work. All the students and teachers were touched and encouraged by the great expectations and wishes hidden inside their names.
