Puxi Grade 2 : Math project: Measurement of the Plant Growth

Students learned measurement in Math class several weeks ago. To have students understand different units of length better, their teachers assigned a project to them – Measurement of the Plant Growth. They turned in their project on April 24th.

In this project, students put a seed on wet folded towels and started to measure the length or height of their plant with a centimeter ruler every 2 days after germination, and took a photo each time. They used a chart to keep record for 3 weeks.

Most of students made so much effort that they took many photos and wrote down detailed marks. Some students chose a pot to hold a seed, and now have a thriving one meter tall plant at home.

This project provided an opportunity for the kids to put what they learned in class into practice. The students enjoyed planting and recording data, too.
