Grade 6: Charity Lecture
Grade 6: Charity Lecture
After stressful midterms, some students went to a presentation about our charity fair. In the presentation, we learned about the organization that we were donating to, who they were helping, and how they were helping them.
The organization our charity fair funded helped children in Yunnan. The presentation showed us how the children they helped were living. They didn’t have that much money, couldn’t afford books, and some were were even forced by their parents to drop out of school in order to work. The charity organization bought books of many kinds and gave them to the children in the mountains.
The presenters showed us what they did in Yunnan. They walked muddy streets that were difficult to pass, then they handed the children the books, or convinced the parents to help the children learn. There were difficulties during their trip to Yunnan, but they overcame them and ensured the delivery of the books. The presenters described how the children reacted to the books as well. They said that they families there couldn’t afford toys, so when the children got the books, they were so happy. It was equivalent to us more fortunate children getting an iPhone.
The presentation about the charity fair taught us to appreciate our lives and be loving towards people who need help.
