Puxi Grade 2: Parents Job Presentation
Puxi Grade 2: Parents Job Presentation
Parents from Grade 2 gave a speech about their jobs to Grade 2 students on April 19th.
Class 2(1) enjoyed a wonderful presentation from Clark's mother in our Grade 2 Job Fair. We learned about her duties in Human Resources, interviewing new employees and making sure they are able to do their jobs well. She works for a publishing company which produces both fiction books and academic journals, and shared interesting details all about the process!
From 2(2) we had the pleasure of listening to Aleksa’s Mom talk about her interesting job as an Advertiser. She prepared a delightful presentation about the dynamics of marketing. This tied in nicely with what the students have learned recently in Social Studies about goods and services. The students were treated to some cool videos on the effects of advertising, as well as being given some really cool products from Aleksa’s mom’s company!
Enos’ dad from Class 2(3) is a car designer. He introduced lots things about car to the students. Students also watched videos about many different kinds of sports cars and their amazing design processes. The boys were extremely interested!.
2(4) Amanda's father came and gave a great presentation about solar energy. He talked about how solar power is created, captured, and used. He also discussed how solar panels are made and used to make a solar power station. The students were really interested in this presentation as a lot of the topics had been recently discussed in our Science class. There were some great photos in his Powerpoint, as well as some great questions from our students.
In Class 2(5) Serena's mom joined us to share about her job as a professional dancer. She gave a brief introduction about different types of dancing such as: tango, modern dancing, dancing on water, flamenco, ballet, and cultural dancing. Students learned that dancing takes a lot of practice and dedication, and that boys can be dancers too! Next, the students enjoyed watching short videos of dancers at work. Finally, Serena's mom encouraged students to try to dance more because it can bring them happiness and keep them fit.
Class 2(6) was lucky to have Mr. Lloren as our job day speaker. Mr. Lloren is a sound recordist. He collects natural sound in all parts of the world. He taught the kids about the sounds that can be found in nature, in the city, at home, and in the classroom. The kids were able to see the equipment that Mr. Lloren uses on a day-to-day basis and even try some of the equipment out! Mr. Lloren did a great job and seemed to make the kids love sound just as much as he does.
The students truly enjoyed this fun and educational presentation. Everyone learned a lot and had a great time!
