Computer Science Department starts a new research project

Teachers in the Computer Science Department started a research project comparing the K12 computer science framework in America with our school’s computer courses structure.

The five core concepts of the K-12 computer science framework are Computing Systems, Networks and the Internet, Data and Analysis, Algorithms and Programming, and Impacts of Computing. The framework also has seven core practices, including fostering an inclusive computing culture, collaborating around computing, creating computational artifacts, testing and refining computational artifacts, recognizing and defining computational problems, communicating about computers, and developing and using abstractions. The concepts and practices are designed to provide authentic, meaningful experiences for students engaging in computer science. Studying the K12CS in the United States and comparing it with computer course architecture in our school’s International division Could provide reference for the design and development of our curriculum to meet help meet the various needs of our students. It is of great significance to the development of our materials, so as to cultivate our students' information literacy. It could help us to train students in using digital resources (such as educational software, simulation and model) to solve problems. This research project should bring continuous innovation to our school’s computer course.
