Chemistry group meeting

On last Friday, the chemistry group held a meeting to discuss topics as follows.

Firstly, all teachers of the chemistry group shared their insight regarding AdvancED Standards. Candidates of the Chemistry subject awards were discussed based on standard principles relating to students’ academic performance. It was mentioned that several teachers in the chemistry group will participate in the Competition for talented youth teachers held by SHSID. They are going to show their talents, and apply their strategies and skills in all aspects in the upcoming competition. Discussion about the application of the Blackboard system went well, since most of the teachers have reached an agreement.

Chemistry is one of the science subjects, so experiments and research work are an important part of it. The science fair held last week was successful, including all experiments, competitions and other events related to Physics, Biology and Chemistry. Teachers of Chemistry prepared all kinds of interesting experiments like production of lipsticks, gold and silver coins and so on. Teachers are all encouraged to devote their time and energy to the instruction of students’ independent research work and project work. Moreover, CloudLab software was introduced to the SHSID High School library to model experiments for class teaching and students’ research work. It’s going to stimulate students’ research skills and self-directed exploration.
