Grade 11: Global Citizen Education Activities
Grade 11: Global Citizen Education Activities
To better prepare students for their future development, SHSID started to have a special education program called Global Citizen Education from last year. On the morning of April 17th, the Grade 11 students participated in this year’s Global Citizen activities, which included 2 parts: self-discovery through creativity and discover the world from different perspectives. In the 1st part, students worked with professionals to explore their personalities and dig into their interests, strengths, weaknesses and their future dreams through activities, such as drawing and group sculpts. Students got a chance to express themselves and share with each other what they really enjoy doing and what they want to pursue in the future. In the 2nd part, students chose to sit in different seminars with their History, Psychology and Economics teachers, and they discussed world issues such as Brexit, globalization, world cultural changes, etc. Through group discussions, students exchanged opinions about world issues, and they also made group presentations about their perspectives and thoughts. Although the activities were done just on one morning, students said that they enjoyed themselves, and it was great to have a chance to talk about themselves and to open their eyes towards world issues.
