Flower Pressing at Shanghai Botanical Gardens

Foreign and Chinese SHSID teachers were invited to enjoy the art of flower pressing at the Shanghai Botanical Gardens on Friday, April 14, 2017. Almost 40 teachers came together in appreciation of art and culture as our neighbors at the Botanical Gardens taught us the art of pressing flowers. Teachers were able to let their artistic abilities shine, making bookmarks form dried, pressed flowers to take home, along with collaborating in teams of four to make a piece of art to leave behind for display at the Botanical Gardens. Artistic abilities came together to create flower pressed masterpieces. One team even used dried flowers to create an image of a Rooster in honor of the “Year of the Rooster”. The teachers were all so grateful for the wonderful class, and the opportunity to walk around the gardens and appreciate the beauty of the sunshine, flowers, and the first days of spring in Shanghai.
