Music Department-SHS String Orchestra

On March 3rd, Shanghai High School’s String Orchestra held their first spring concert in the Drama Hall. This performance was larger than all the concerts that the String Orchestra has held in the past. Players at this concert were talented musicians from both the domestic and international divisions.

Programs performed varied from Bach and Mozart's classical pieces to the theme songs of modern movies, including Innocent by the Japanese composer Mr. Hisaishi, Moon River from Breakfast at Tiffany's, Por Una Cabeza from The Scent of a Woman, etc. The principal violin player of SHSID’s String Orchestra, Hera Chan, performed a recital of the famous Chinese violin song, Butterfly Lovers, and received stormy applause from the audience.

The director and the organizer of this concert, Ms. Dong, concluded that "where words leave off, music begins". This wonderful performance attracted lots of people, who had a wonderful time. We are looking forward to hearing more amazing performances from the String Orchestra in the future.
