Grades 9-10:Science Fair
Grades 9-10:Science Fair
The Grade 9&10 Science Fair was held in the Zhongxing building last Friday, April 7th. There were more than 20 activities at the fair this year including experiments presided over by science teachers and fun games held by ASB members. Before the science fair, teachers and helpers were busy preparing for the activities.
After P&B, students started to search for chemical elements’ names and numbers and tried to match them up. After lunch time, students gathered in different classrooms and participated in the fair activities. The most popular activities were “DIY lipstick”, ”DIY ice-cream”, ”Helium voice”, “making leaf bookmarks”, “Dominos”, and so on. We also invited professors from universities to talk about the chemistry of daily life, and staff from a chemical company to talk about skin and sun protections. The lectures attracted a lot of students, and aimed to expand their view of science and let them feel that science is everywhere. A lot of students love artificial intelligence and robots. They could go to three classrooms related to AI and communicate with engineers from various IT companies. At the science fair, students came to exchange prizes by using a special stamp sheet.
The science fair lit up our students’ passion for science. They felt how close science is to our lives and gained a better understanding of how to apply science in daily life.
